SAEINDIA Academia Industry Association Launch Program

Event Details

This is the launch event of the Skill enhancement Program 'Academia-Industry Collaboration (AIC)' under SAEINDIA & Elite Techno Groups (elitetechnogroups.com). We will unveil how this association is the first step to empowering Indian Engineering institutions to be world-class. This is recommended as a must-attend event for all the college's heads and faculties who are working relentlessly to build a better and stronger India with world-class engineers.

AIC is today's requirement because 80%+ students who graduate are considered not industry-ready. There have been Parliament debates on how to make engineers ready for industry. Govt. of India wants students to engage in hands-on industrial activities during college, get the required exposure and lead India to growth with Make In India, Startup India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

If this dream is to be realized, India needs skilled engineers at an alarming rate. And, it is very very difficult for colleges to figure out ways all by themselves! Being part of the academic structure and limited freedom and resources, it is impractical to expect colleges to transform engineering education overnight. However, most of the colleges understand the changing requirements from industry and parents and are looking for ways to provide students with the best learning opportunities.

Hence, SAEINDIA with ETG is launching Academia-Industry Collaboration (AIC), a specialization program during undergraduate studies that will create an ecosystem of industrial learning similar to that existing in world-class universities.

About SAEINDIA & Engineering Education Board

Mr Venkataraj

K Venkataraj, Deputy Director-General of SAEINDIA, fondly known as Venky, is an accomplished Automotive, IT Sales & Business Development Professional with 29 years of experience. He has started his career as a CAD/CAM technical engineer and moved on to PLM Sales Professional in NIIT, TCS, and IBM. He has served the Americas & Middle East markets for almost a decade in the different territories, business development profiles. He has served various units of IBM in India and Middle East for 13 years. During his IBM tenure, he has built a relationship with BlackBerry, Waldorf Astoria, Saud Bhawan Group, Ashok Leyland, HAL, ADA, and other leading automotive, aerospace, IT giants. Venky has been associated with SAEINDIA as a volunteer for 12 years before moving into SAEINDIA as Dy Director General in September 2016. In this role, he works with Top Mobility Organizations of India like Mahindra, Maruti, ARAI, Renault Nissan, Boeing in India. He was a Chief Guest in several Engineering Conferences/events at premier Engineering Institutions like SRM University, HITS Chennai, RMK Engineering College-Chennai, KCT-Coimbatore, PES-Bangalore, Atria Group of Institutions, Bangalore, Cambridge Institute of Tech, Bangalore, CSMS College of Engineering & Technology, Aurangabad, MCKV-Kolkata in the Automobile Engineering area. He has built a relationship with NATRIP (National Automotive Test Research Infrastructure Project), GARC-Chennai, and ICAT Manesar. Venky enjoys a great rapport with SAE International, FISITA UK, IEEE IAS Global HQ, and other leading mobility associations. He was instrumental in signing MoUs with Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) India, and Virginia Tech, USA. He is recently certified by the State University of New York in ‘Leadership & Governance in Non-profit Organizations. He has conducted several CEO Roundtables and Policy Meets for the Automotive Fraternity. He is a firm believer in achieving success through a process-driven approach with professional relationship management skills. His primary responsibility is to execute the vision of SAEINDIA, set by its Top Decision-Making body, the Managing Committee, to improve market coverage and maximize value delivery to our members. His strength is building a long-term professional relationship with leading mobility entities and managing conflicts for success. He is a good orator, emcee, proud Indian, and a passionate SAEINDIA.

Mrs. Rashmi Urdhwareshe

Mrs. Rashmi Urdhwareshe retired as Director ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India, Pune) in June 2020. Having started her career as Trainee Engineer, Mrs. Urdhwareshe rose through the ranks to take the coveted position as Director of ARAI in year 2014. ARAI is the prestigious autonomous R&D and Homologation Institute located in Pune. During her illustrious tenure as Director, ARAI scaled new heights in technology, business excellence and R&D. Under her leadership Center of Excellence in E-Mobility, Homologation and Technology Centre and several key facilities were created to provide dedicated services to the automotive and other engineering sectors at national and international level. Mrs. Urdhwareshe has a distinguished academic and professional career. She holds master’s degree in E&TC and several other professional qualifications such as Diploma in Corporate Directorship (from WCCG), Six Sigma Black Belt (from ASQ), etc. Her 37+ years of industrial experience and expertise includes wide range of subjects in automotive domain (like vehicular safety, Air quality and exhaust measurements, Standards/ Regulations, R&D and technology, Green mobility, Alternate fuels, Quality Systems and Business Excellence, etc.) Mrs. Urdhwareshe has served as the Chair / Vice Chair of various national/ international bodies. She is currently President of SAE India (Society of Automobile Engineers). She is also Senior Advisor to Pune Knowledge Cluster (PKC), which is set up under the directions of Principal Scientific Advisor, Government of India. With huge experience and wide expertise, Mrs. Rashmi has also taken up Advisory and Mentorship roles for Corporates, Educational/ Research programs and Government Agencies. Mrs. Urdhwareshe is Co-author of Book on Total Quality Management. Mr. Munirathnam is an aeronautical engineer with a post graduate diploma in Management. He has over 30 years of experience in engineering field right from project management to operational management and establishment of strong organizations. He has worked in Germany, Holland, USA and India for leading companies and was involved in projects like Airbus, BMW, Renault, John Deere etc. He has been associated with SAEINDIA since 2008 in various roles. He is the Founder CEO of Javaji M Consulting, which focuses on cross border activities in Engineering Activities Some of the Professional Engagement.
