Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA)

Course Description:

FMEA training provides a step-by-step approach in identifying the ways in which a process can fail to meet critical Customer requirements, estimating the risk of specific causes regarding these failures, evaluating the current control for preventing these failures from occurring, and prioritizing the actions that should be taken to improve the process. DFMEA is generally used for major changes or new designs or if the existing DFMEA is not comprehensive. It focuses on all failure modes for a component or system and considers design-related failure modes.

Benefits of DFMEA:

DFMEA improves the quality, reliability, and safety of products helps to increase Customer Satisfaction, reduces product development timing and cost. It also documents and tracks the actions taken to reduce risk.

Learning Objectives:

The participant will learn various topics and gets guidance on how to conduct a DFMEA. By attending this course, one will be capable of understanding what s FMEA and DFMEA, when to do DFMEA, how to prepare for an effective DFMEA, basic steps of DFMEA, guidelines on how to make the DFMEA effective, and going through a live case study. The tools covered in this training include, Product Tree Structure, Function Analysis, Boundary Diagram, Interface Matrox, and Parameter (P) Diagram.

Who Should Attend:

This course is recommended for various industries including Automotive. Occupations include but are not limited to, Design Engineers, Product Developers, Engineering Managers, Quality Engineers & Managers, Manufacturing Engineers & Managers, and anyone interested in DFMEA. Students can also benefit from early adoption.
